August 2001 Issue - Rare One-Of-A-Kind Gibson Instruments: 1970s

During the past 100 years, Gibson has produced some of the finest instruments ever made. Their late 1950s Les Paul and Flying V models sell for tens of thousands of dollars and are considered rare. Not as valuable, but harder to find are the one-of-a-kind models that Gibson produced.
Several of the one-off instruments from the 1970s include:
1970 - Artist-12 (12-string flat top) guitar
1973 - Blue Ridge (flat top) guitar with Les Paul pickup
1973 - J-300-12 (12-string flat top) guitar
1975 - EB-4L (long scale) bass with Ebony finish
1975 - Les Paul Deluxe (left hand model) guitar with Red Sparkle finish
